Covering a 100-meter driveway leading to a historic castle with pink pebbles overlays real and fantastical spaces which both draw on, and construct our relationship with the past. The Disneyland allusions bring together the tastes and experiences of the cultural and the entertainment industry into close proximity in an unsettling way. Its seemingly slight act of transformation is, in fact, a displacement of 15 tons of pebbles that equally subverts the traditions of land art, where the physical displacement of a weight of earth evaporates in the imagination’s ability to transport to other sites.
