Pentagon

magazine paper, cut out
14.1×21cm
2011

Erotic images from Chinese magazines are cut and leave geometric spaces that appear to conceal the women’s bodies, creating tension between explicit and implicit. This becomes overlaid with the association of the Pentagon, a symbol of the U.S. military. In the combination of associations, the images blend sensitivities and attitudes of two world powers such as military prowess, censorship and visual culture.
