The series of textile works I was made to be with you derives its title from a slogan on a T-shirt. The multi-layered quilted banners use text and imagery found on second-hand T-shirts, handwritten notes and hacked computer data as source material. The representation of undervalued, sweat shop and domestic labor is combined with the hacked passwords and data, obtained through the lucrative activity of computer hacking.
Fragments of personal notes and confidential information which constitutes our sense of security, privacy and self, is conflated with prints found on T-shirts which establish the wearers identity in the public realm.
