A set of vases sculpted from the ubiquitous building material of the Ytong cinderblocks each follow the forms of traditional ceramics, acting as the containers for a variety of times and histories. Each vase contains a bouquet of paper flowers, meticulously folded from the pages of Chinese soft porn magazines. Fragments of nude bodies are visible through the sharp creases and folds. Instead of sweet scents and the reproductive organs of a flower, the viewer glimpses mass-produced human erotica. Each bouquet has been titled after a line from a popular song text, embodying them with an aura of convenient poetic pleasure.
